Charles Reed Cagle is a seasoned consultant in the oil and energy sectors, recognized for his adept use of horizontal drilling to enhance operational efficiencies. Born in 1962 in Clarksville, Texas, he cherishes his Texas roots deeply despite extensive travels. He and his wife, Donna, have married for over three decades, have raised their son, and lived across the U.S. before settling back in Plano, Texas, in 2017.

Cagle's career kicked off in 1986 with Kinlaw Oil Corporation, where he quickly developed a passion for the industry. After a decade of ascending through the ranks due to his dedication and keen insight into the industry, he embarked on his venture. In 1996, he founded Heartland Energy Inc. in Dallas, which evolved into HEI, with him at the helm as president and CEO. He collaborated extensively with professionals across the industry, spearheading exploration initiatives and innovative projects in gas, oil, and minerals.

His entrepreneurial journey expanded in 2006 when he partnered with Midcontinent Drilling, investing in a venture that saw the construction of a 2000 horsepower drilling rig capable of reaching depths up to 20,000 feet. This venture marked his initial foray into the intensive drilling service aspect of the oil industry.

In 2011, Charles Reed Cagle ventured further into the mining sector in the U.S. and South America, acquiring a mining concession in Oregon that yielded 89,000 ounces of gold. His work extended to Chile, where he was instrumental in the daily operations and funding of a gold and copper processing facility in CopiapĆ³. Here, he innovated a proprietary process that significantly improved the safety and efficiency of extracting precious metals by removing and neutralizing toxic substances from liquids.

Currently residing in Plano, Texas, he continues to offer his consultancy expertise to midsize independent oil and energy companies, as well as other industries. He relishes outdoor activities such as hunting, fly fishing, and cycling and holds a private pilot's license. Very active in his local church, he is frequently involved in organizing community events. As an avid golfer, he enjoys playing with his son and organizing charity golf tournaments through Outreachers, a non-denominational Christian charity he founded, which supports sustainable community development projects locally and internationally.
